A penthouse at what will be Chicago’s tallest residential tower will hit the market next week with a $15 million price tag.

The 7,500-square-foot penthouse will occupy an entire floor at One Bennett Park, Robert A.M. Stern’s first tower in Chicago, which is due for completion in 2019, according to the developer.

The penthouse will have views of Lake Michigan, the Chicago River, Grant Park and the city skyline as well as an 800-square-foot private terrace. There are two more penthouses, which will be put on the market at a later date.

The 836-foot-tall tower, which is in Chicago’s Streeterville neighborhood and developed by Related Midwest, has 69 condominium residences, which start at $2 million, and 279 rentals. Upon completion, One Bennett Park will be the tallest all-residential tower in Chicago.

If the penthouse sells for this price it will be the most expensive sale of the year in that city. A full-floor penthouse at the Waldorf Astoria, which sold for $11.7 million, currently holds that record, although that was down from its original $13.9 million asking  price.

Last year, an associate of Star Wars creator George Lucas and his wife Mellody Hobson paid a record breaking $18.75 million for a condo at Park Tower in Chicago. There was heavy speculation in the media that this property was for Mr. Lucas and his Chicago-native wife, although this has not been confirmed.
