A Palladian villa in Pasadena where crews filmed a number of television and movie classics—including the notorious lily pond catfight scene from 1980s TV series "Dynasty"—has hit the market for $28 million.

Railroad heir and mining tycoon William Kennon Jewett had Arden Villa built in 1913 as a grand estate removed from the main road by a 100-yard, tree-lined driveway, according to a website marketing the home with agents Nick Cacarnakis and Jack Chang of Berkshire Hathaway.

The grounds include a pool and tennis court and an array of manicured gardens and lily ponds, one of which set the scene for a showdown between "Dynasty" characters Krystle Carrington (played by Linda Evans) and Alexis Carrington Colby (Joan Collins), which aired in 1983.

The home was also the crime fighting headquarters in the action series "Knight Rider" starring David Hasselhoff, and featured in the 1993 thriller "Mother’s Boys" starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Peter Gallagher. Decades prior, the Marx brothers filmed their 1933 classic "Duck Soup" at the house, according to the listing.

Interested buyers could even get a pretty good tour of the three-acre estate just watching the music video for 1996 hit "Don’t Look Back in Anger" by the English rock band Oasis, with member Alan White beating a drum set in the middle of a pool.

The home last sold to Villa Heights Investment LLC in 2013 for $20 million, according to property records. The home is new to market and is not yet listed on the multiple listing service, Mr. Cacarnakis said in an email.

The property spans two separate parcels, including a smaller residence, set behind ornate wrought iron gates. The yellow stucco main house spans 13,000 square feet with intricate crown moulding in most of the living spaces, photos of the home show. The mansion has seven indoor fireplaces, a wine cellar, an elevator, five main bedrooms and nine bathrooms.

Beyond the manicured grounds, there’s a 2,430-square-foot second residence or guest house with its own private entrance and swimming pool.
