Within the acclaimed 4,200-acre Tuscan estate Castello di Casole, 10 farms have been newly grouped and released as Farms at Castello di Casole, each featuring 100 to 160 acres of cultivable land along with a luxury farmhouse to be custom designed or restored from an existing ruin.

Prices range from €5.5 million to €8.5 million (US$5.85-$9.05 million), depending on the size and location of the farm, said Gary W. Moore, Jr., project director at Castello di Casole. Fractional ownership, popular among jet, yacht and resort property buyers, is optional.

Situated in the heart of Tuscany, Castello di Casole is one of the largest private estates in Italy and was originally owned by the Bargagli family, an ancient and noble family of Siena. The estate is currently owned and operated by Timbers Resorts, the developer and operator of a collection of properties in more than 15 destinations worldwide, according to Mr. Moore.

The estate includes a historic castle that has been restored into a boutique five-star hotel, a collection of 10 hotel villas and 27 farmhouses.

Farms can grow crops of vineyards, olive groves, fruit orchards and wheat fields. The farmhouses will range from 5,500 to 12,000 square feet, and will be designed by the architecture team at Castello di Casole.

The estate has employed an agricultural team that will help property owners manage the farms. Owners will be able to learn under winemaker Paolo Caciorgna and participate in the complete cultivation and winemaking process on the estate’s 88 acres of vineyards—from pruning in the winter to harvesting in the fall. Mr. Caciorgna is a Tuscan born and bred oenologist and serves as a consultant for over 30 wine producers in Italy.

The buyer of a farm can also produce their own wine, olive oil or other crops. They can have their own hobby vineyard for small production or go into the wine business by producing larger quantities of wine or olive oil, Mr. Moore said.

The  amenities and activities at Hotel Castello di Casole will also be offered to farm owners, including a spa and wellness center, swimming pool, bars and restaurants, according to Mr. Moore.
