Location: Hokuala, Kauai, Hawaii

Price: $9,750,000 (whole ownership)

This oceanfront three-bedroom apartment is in Timbers Kaua’i-Ocean Club & Residences at Hōkūala, a new private residential club set to open on June 1 on the southeast coast of the island of Kauai.

"Perched atop the Kaiholo building, this last penthouse represents the absolute best location within Timbers Kaua’i-Ocean Club & Residences, and arguably, the best in all of Kauai," said Gary Moore, managing director of Hokuala.

Construction is slated to be completed in May. Whole-ownership prices for the 47 residences start at around $2 million, and fractional ownership opportunities start in the mid-$300,000s.

Timbers Kaua’i, is the "last direct oceanfront development to ever be developed on the island of Kauai," Mr. Moore said. The county of Kauai instituted a 500-foot shoreline setback in 2014 and has since included additional strict development regulations.

The second-story residence has 180-degree Pacific Ocean views, he said, "with the Ninini Point lighthouse framing the view to the east, open water where whales regularly breach to the center, and the dramatic Haupu Mountains and coastline to the west."

"These views are captured from every inch of the Kaiholo penthouse residence," he added. "The floor plan is open and expansive with stacking floor-to-ceiling glass doors" that bring in lots of natural light and ocean breezes.

The master bedroom has its own private outdoor lanai space and there’s an outdoor shower in the master bath. The well-appointed kitchen features Thermador Masterpiece appliances.

Other design details include a guest master bedroom, outdoor dining lanai, natural stone vanities, custom cabinetry and Sapele hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen and master bedrooms.

The 14-unit Kaiholo building has a private residential porte-cochere with valet, a reception and entry lounge, private parking garage and secure owner storage.

This unit overlooks two of the oceanfront golf holes, Mr. Moore said, "the 15thto the east and the signature 16thhole to the west."

"There is also a secluded beach, Running Waters, just steps away where endangered Hawaiian Monk Seals regularly take their mid-day naps between squid hunts," he said.

There is also an attractive rental program for buyers, he said. "Nightly rental rates will span from $3,500 to $7,500 per night depending on season."

Stats

The 3,444-square-foot house has three bedrooms, three full bathrooms and one partial bathroom. There is also a wraparound outdoor lanai totaling 1,795 square feet.
