A sprawling riverfront estate in Daytona Beach, Florida, built in 2003 as the primary residence for the family of Bill France, founder and owner of the car racing body NASCAR, will hit the auction block on June 3, Mansion Global has learned.

Situated on 3.8 acres on the edge of Halifax River, the property includes a main residence, a guesthouse, 325-foot private water frontage and a 150-foot boat dock, suitable for several deep-water vessels, according to Platinum Luxury Auctions, a Florida-based auctioning house which is handling the sale.

The property hadn’t been previously offered for sale, but was valued at $13.8 million, according to Platinum, citing an appraisal in 2013 by a personal insurance company.

The auction has no minimum bidding price and the fully furnished home is being sold without reserve. Interested buyers can preview the property, register and make a deposit of $100,000 until June 2, according to David Enriquez, vice president of Platinum Luxury Auctions.

"It offers an incredible opportunity to own a large waterfront home. Buyers can potentially get a substantial deal," Mr. Enrique said.

The estate was built in 2003 for Bill France Jr., chief executive of NASCAR from 1972 to 2000. He died at age of 74 in 2007. His father, Bill France Sr., founded NASCAR in 1948 in Daytona Beach.

The property still belongs to the France family; public records show his widow, Betty Jane France, as the current owner.
