The beachfront property was previously listed for $5.5M more

A Malibu Beach property owned by Joel Silver, who has  produced such hit action films as the "Lethal Weapon" series, "The Matrix" trilogy and the first two "Die Hard" movies, has its price cut by $5.5 million and is now listed for $52 million.

The new listing, active since Monday, is almost 10% less than what Mr. Silver wanted when it was first came on the market in April 2016.

Sitting on nearly three-quarters of an acre, the property boasts 137 feet of beach frontage, a pool with spa and the only tennis court on the Malibu beachfront, according to the listing.

The main residence features open living spaces, five bedrooms, six bathrooms and a chef’s kitchen. There is a detached guest house with two additional bedrooms and two bathroom.

Mr. Silver bought the home, originally built in 1932, from another great movie producer, Robert Chartoff, in 2003 for over $14 million, public records show.

Mr. Silver, as well as listing agents, didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.
