Location: Big Sky, Montana

Price: $7.795 million

This custom retreat atop Andesite Mountain is in Yellowstone Club, an exclusive, private 15,200-acre ski and golf community with 2,700 acres of ski slopes.

"The house is built with heavy Montana rock masonry and it’s all reclaimed wood," said listing agent Dave Kisko of Yellowstone Club Realty.

"The craftsmanship is some of the best we’ve seen at the club," he said.

Built in 2007, the house is furnished and fully turnkey, Mr. Kisko said. It boasts five floor-to-ceiling stone fireplaces, including two in the lodge-like great room. "All are true wood-burning fireplaces."

The layout features a one-level floor plan with loft spaces on either end of the home, he said. "There are a lot of intimate areas in the house, away from the great room, places to go and be and have some privacy."

The master suite has an exercise room, a spacious closet and bathroom, a fireplace and walkout access to a patio. All of the bathrooms feature marble, handcrafted tile and Lefroy Brooks fixtures.

The state-of-art, yet rustic kitchen has a breakfast bar and built-in dining nook, with a charming sitting area known as the "hearth room" off to the side. "That’s one of my favorite rooms in the house," Mr. Kisko said.

"The views are to the east, of the Gallatin Range and toward Yellowstone National Park," he said.

"You can ski out from the back of the property," he added.

The buyer will likely use this as a second home, Mr. Kisko said. "Of our 630 families, only 15 are truly year-round."

Yellowstone Club dues are $41,500 a year along with $12,000 annual dues for the homeowners association, he said. There is also an initial fee of $300,000 to join the club, which buyers get back should they leave.

"It truly is a small community, a community with really good recreational amenities," he said.
