Oscar-winning actress Meryl Streep parted with $3.6 million last week, which she plunked down for a mid-century modern residence in Pasadena, California, property records show.

Ms. Streep, 68, and her husband, sculptor Don Gummer, used their go-to LLC for the purchase which they've used in the past for transactions in New York City’s Tribeca and Greenwich Village, according to property records. The house had been on the market since September and had an asking price of $4.125 million.

Set on almost two acres of land—and at the end of a long private driveway—the 3,087-square-foot house was built in 1959 by architects Smith and William, according to the listing with Georges Rouveyrol of Sotheby’s International Realty. Mr. Rouveyrol did not immediately respond to a request for comment regarding the transaction.

The house has three bedrooms, three bathrooms, high ceilings, walls of glass, and retains many original features and architectural details including windows, doors and terrazzo floors, the listing said. The property also has a detached office or studio space and a swimming pool.

Ms. Streep holds the record for the most Academy Award nominations of any actor or actress, having been nominated 20 times, starting in 1979. A representative for the actress did not immediately respond to request for comment.

Variety first reported the sale.
