A Mediterranean-style mansion on Florida's Merritt Island, a spot on the Sunshine State’s east coast known for being home to NASA’s John F. Kennedy Space Center, is headed under the hammer.

On May 27, the stately spread will sell online without reserve to the highest bidder through Concierge Auctions in cooperation with Brad Kuhns of RE/MAX Elite. The home is currently also available to purchase for $9.9 million.

Entered through double-iron filigree doors, the almost 20,000-foot-property is fitted with a French Country-style chef’s kitchen, a bar and a screened-in living area complete with a summer kitchen and hot tub, according to the listing.

There’s also six bedrooms, a sprawling dressing room, a 10-person theater, numerous fireplaces, and statement ceilings that feature throughout the home, including a custom wood-tray ceiling in the kitchen.

The home is owned by a trust, records with Propertyshark show.

"This property is the epitome of the laid-back lifestyle of Merritt Island,” Mr. Kuhns said in a statement. “Its luxurious features are unique, such as the wall of glass in the great room, and the resort-style entertainment area outside is perfect for enjoying over nine waterfront acres and Intracoastal Waterway views.”

As well as housing an outside entertainment area, the lush grounds are home to a pool and a personal putting green. Residents may also get a view of space take-offs from Rocket Launch View Point, just 18 miles from the front door, according to the listing.

“By owning this property, you will feel as if you are waking up to your personal sanctuary each day,” Mr. Kuhns said.

Florida’s housing market looks set to remain a safe bet for investors even as the coronavirus pandemic disrupts the U.S. housing market. The state’s appealing low-tax environment continues to draw in transplants from around the U.S., which will likely push up prices in the long run, Mansion Global previously reported.
