Colombians Continue to Look Toward the Florida Market South Florida’s popularity among Colombians continued into January, representing 12.6% of the total searchers on the website of the Miami Association of Realtors. That number was up from 10.5% a month ago. Buyers from Colombia and Canada were ranked third for the most home purchases in South Florida last year, with each representing 9%. New Zealand Sees Prices Rise By 7% New Zealand has seen its median home price increase by a significant 6.9% year-over-year in February, bringing it to NZ$530,000 (US$386,656). In Auckland the increase was only 3.7%, according to the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand, while the area of Hawke’s Bay was up a whopping 18.4%. Out of New Zealand’s 16 regions, 14 saw overall prices rise, while the number of sales has also increased with gains of 1.2% year-on-year. PropertyWire

Brisbane, Australia, Suburbs Near Million-Dollar Medians Domain Group data has identified five so-called up-and-coming Brisbane suburbs that are heading toward million-dollar median prices, with prices nearing A$800,000 (US$626,640) or more. There have been significant price increases in the inner north suburbs of Alderley and Gordon Park as well as Woolloongabba, Camp Hill and Seven Hills on the southside, and continued growth is expected. Actor Forest Whitaker Reconfigures Los Angeles Listing Late last year, Oscar-winning actor Forest Whitaker listed a two-house compound in Hollywood Hills West for about $6 million. He’s now split up the two adjacent properties and is asking $1.5 million for the smaller one—a 2,725-square-foot three-story house on one acre of land—and $3.499 million for the larger one, a 5,500-square-foot Mediterranean villa-style house with five bedrooms and four bathrooms.
