Obamas Not Moving to Gracie Square Despite excitement that the Obamas were soon to become New Yorkers, it now seems that the former president and family will not be moving into the Upper East Side building 10 Gracie Square. Toronto City Council OKs Modest Property Tax Increase Toronto’s City Council voted to raise the residential property tax by 2.1%, opting against measures that would have taken the rate higher. At 2.1%, the average person will pay an additional C$81 (US$64) each year. Concerns remain that the funds produced by the Municipal Land Transfer Tax will take a significant dip if sales slow, causing a troubling deficit. CBC News
