Home Designed by a Frank Lloyd Wright Student Asks Less Than $1 Million A ranch-style home in a suburb of Philadelphia has come on the market for $995,000. The three-bedroom, 3,000-square-foot home was designed in the 1950s by Frank Lloyd Wright disciple Robert Bishop. The home features midcentury modern design throughout, as well as a large gas fireplace in the main living area, and a porch framed by decorative beams. Curbed

U.K. Couple Raffles Off £5.25 Million House After Failing to Sell Facing a chilly sales market, one U.K. couple has decided to raffle their £5.25 million (US$6.7 million) home in the north of London, selling tickets for just £13.50 (US$17) apiece. The home sits on 7,500 square feet of land, and the raffle will be drawn by Dec.16, or as soon as 600,000 tickets are sold. "I would like to see it go to a family who are going to cherish it and have as much fun as we have, and I hope we succeed," owner Melanie Walsh said. City A.M.

Canadian Housing Starts Dropped in July Housing starts in Canada dropped to 206,314 units in July, from 246,000 in June, according to the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corp. Starts for multiple-unit projects in cities decreased by 20.3% in the same period, while starts for single-detached urban units fell by 3.6%. Developer Interest in China Land Plots Hits a Four-Year Low In China, 258 auctions of plots have failed to find buyers so far this year, the highest rate of unsold land plots since 2014, according to research from China Securities Co. "Developers are turning cautious because of the concern over profitability, and tight funding conditions," said Chen Shen, the report’s chief author. Government measures to cool home prices, combined with new restrictions on lending, have created a less appealing market overall for developers in China. South China  Morning Post
