San Jose Poised to Be the Highest Performing U.S. Market in 2018 A new ranking from Zillow predicts that San Jose will be the U.S. market that sees the strongest growth in the new year, with values expected to rise 9%. Hong Kong’s Mount Nicholson Sold 16 Apartments for Total of HK$9.58 Billion Last Year Hong Kong’s high-end Mount Nicholson development sold 16 units for HK$100 million (US$12.8 million) or more in 2017, for a total of HK$9.58 billion (US$1.2 billion), according to Ricacorp Properties. Overall, 89 transactions worth HK$100 million or more took place in Hong Kong last year, and Mount Nicholson’s sales accounted for 18% of the total value of those deals. An analyst from Knight Frank pointed to the lack of luxury supply as a driving factor for high sales prices. South China Morning Post

Philippa Forrester’s Home Featured in BBC Documentary Lists for £1.5 million The Falls, a rural U.K. home belonging to TV presenter Philippa Forrester, is up for sale for £1.5 million ($2.03 million) after being featured in popular BBC documentary "Halcyon River Diaries." Two 16th-century cottages have been converted into a 3,275-square-foot house, and there’s an additional summer house that’s used as a gym. The grounds also include a tennis court and paddock, and wildlife including kingfishers, otters and dippers. The Telegraph

Home Builder Taylor Wimpey Calls the U.K. Housing Market "Solid" In a trading statement released ahead of their full-year results, the U.K.’s third largest homebuilder called the market "solid" in spite of its shaky past year. Taylor Wimpey reports selling homes at an average of 4% more in 2017 than 2016, with an average price of £264,000 (US$357,432). It also reports building 5% more homes this year, to a total of 14,541.
