A London penthouse in the coveted St. George Wharf building complex hit the market last week for £11.95 million (US$15.16 million), according to Henry Mcalister of Beauchamp Estates, a sales negotiator for the property.

"You’re not going to get a flat in the area to compete with it," Mr. Mcalister said. "It’s one you can’t really beat."

The St. George Wharf is a riverside complex in Lambeth, located on the southern bank of the River Thames, adjacent to Vauxhall Bridge. The penthouse, called The Tower, is located on the building’s 41st floor and offers floor-to-ceiling windows that give way to panoramic views of central London.

Equipped with three bedrooms and 3,354 square feet of livable space, the smart property’s atmosphere and media are controlled via touchscreen.

The penthouse is within the 561-acre Nine Elms regeneration district on the booming southern bend of the River Thames, an area being transformed from an industrial hotspot to residential and commercial neighborhood.

Speaking to its up-and-coming location, Mr. McAlister mentioned that the property neighbors both the brand-new billion dollar U.S. Embassy and also the under-construction £9 billion (US$11.42 billion) Battersea Power Station development, which, in Mr. McAlister’s estimation, is set in 2020 to be "the most iconic building in the country."

The current owners, who wish to remain anonymous, are moving back to their home country, according to Mr. Mcalister. They could not be identified via property records.

Along with taking residence in a luxurious penthouse, living in The Tower comes with 24-hour concierge services, a swimming pool, gym, spa and a private cinema within the St. George Wharf.
