Location:  London

Price: £18 million (About $27.8 million) An estate this large isn’t easy to find in Barnes, a suburb of southwest London on the River Thames. The roughly 14,000-square-foot house boasts seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms. Homes in the area typically range from 2,000 to 6,000 square feet, according to listing agent James Williams, head of Knight Frank’s Barnes office. Williams said that homes in Barnes with 2,000 to 3,500 square feet and four to five bedrooms usually cost between £2 million (about $3.1 million) and £3 million (about $4.6 million). The biggest draw for the listing could be the ballroom on the lower level. At the push of a button, a floor panel reveals a 42½-foot-long swimming pool. “You can have a dance and you can have a swim,” said Williams. The lower level also features a ‘champagne bar,’ a wine cellar, and a theater, as well as staff quarters and a caterer’s kitchen. The spa on the lower level includes a gym, a sauna and a treatment room, as well as steam rooms and plunge pools. The newly built estate was finished in the summer. Williams declined to identify the owners, but said they are private developers based in London. He predicts the future owner of the home will be an international buyer. “Or a central London buyer who is looking for a larger house without going out to the country,” he said.
