It is a truism in Washington, D.C. that bitter political enemies can make very fine neighbors. And in the Kalorama Heights neighborhood of the nation’s capital, for $9.975 million you can live walking distance from the pinnacle of political opposites—Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, and Barack and Michelle Obama.

Built in 1926, the six-bedroom, seven-bathroom, four-floor single-family residence has just undergone a five-year renovation, the broker’s property brochure explains.

The Wyoming Avenue house, which was listed Tuesday, has 4,718 square feet of living space that includes a new addition of a glass-enclosed conservatory with five sets of doors opening to the grounds and garden. The gourmet kitchen opens onto a breakfast room, with the formal dining room, living room, formal entry hall and powder room, also on the first floor. There is a lower level that includes a billiards room and screening room, a wet bar, gas fireplace and an in-law suite with a full bathroom.

The second floor master bedroom includes a room-sized closet with marble counters, while the large bathroom includes a marble bathtub and double-sized walk-in shower. The library is also on the second floor. There are four more bedrooms on the third floor.

Compass Agent Patrick Chauvin has had a longstanding relationship to the house. He said in an emailed statement that he’d first sold the house in the 1990s when the heirs to the original owners, who built it in the 1920s, sold it. The last reported sale, according to public records, was in August 2007 for $4.7 million.

The grounds have been newly landscaped to maximize privacy and include a manicured English garden with fountains, herringbone brickwork, two patios and a pool. There is a one-car-sized garage/garden pavilion with French doors that open onto the rear garden and patio and the pool.
