Listing of the Day
Location: London
Price: £24 million (US$32.4 million)
The London house formerly owned by actress Julie Andrews ("The Sound of Music" and "Mary Poppins") and her late husband, filmmaker Blake Edward ("The Pink Panther") is for sale. They lived in the house in the 1970s, and it has since been restored by an ultra-prime developer.
The townhouse-mansion and linked mews (buildings converted from stables) are located in Chester Square, a small residential garden square in the Belgravia district of London. Margaret Thatcher once lived next door.
Over the years, the house has been host to celebrities including Peter Sellers, Herbert Lom and Omar Sharif, according to listing agent Becky Fatemi.
"What’s great about Chester Square is that unlike other prime Belgravian squares, like Eaton Square or Belgrave Square, it boasts full houses. I would say 70% are full houses, whereas in other squares, many houses have been converted into apartments," Ms. Fatemi said.

Talking Point
French doors on the front of the house open to a balcony, which overlooks the garden square. French doors on the back of the house open onto a garden terrace.
"The front of the house faces north and opens up to Chester Square. You have uninterrupted green views, which is beautiful to look out onto," Ms. Fatemi said. "There is a lift that runs on the back of the house, with doors on both sides so you literally float from the main house into the mews into that gorgeous TV room."

Buckingham Palace and Hyde Park are within walking distance. A wide array of restaurants and cafes ranging from Dominique Ansel Bakery to Starbucks are within walking distance. Boutiques, restaurants, a cigar shop, a florist, and other small business that lend a village vibe to the area can be found nearby on Elizabeth Street.
