A Scottish country house belonging to Judy Murray, mother of the world’s No. 1 ranked tennis player, Sir Andy Murray, has hit the market for £825,000 (US$1.02 millIon), but surprisingly it comes sans tennis court.
Khyber House is located in Bridge of Allan in Stirling, a city in central Scotland, and was completely refurbished five years ago by the 57-year-old tennis coach, who has been widely credited for her son’s success.

“I loved Khyber House from the first time I saw it,” said Ms. Murray, who brought up her two sons (both tennis players) in nearby Dunblane, in a release.
“It’s like a little white castle sitting above the town and looking out over the hills,” she said. “I have a pretty hectic travel and work schedule, so it’s the perfect place to chill because it’s so quiet and peaceful.”
Ms. Murray, who appeared as a contestant on TV dance competition “Strictly Come Dancing” in the U.K., added that the four-bedroom house is big enough to host the whole family on the rare occasions that her sons Andy and Jamie (a successful doubles player) are home.
The house, which dates to the 1930s, is set on just under a half acre of land, and includes a pillared entrance; a large drawing room with a bay window looking over the gardens; a grand central staircase; and a master bedroom with views of the hills of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, according to the listing.
There is also a second floor where the L-shaped attic houses an office with a built-in desk and a gym, although this space could also be transformed into a fifth bedroom or game room, Harry Maitland of Savills, the listing agent, said.
“The views and the private garden are superb and the property really is in fantastic condition,” he added.
The family still has other property in the area. Sir Andy Murray bought, transformed and re-opened the high-end Cromlix Hotel in Spring 2014 in time for the Ryder Cup at Gleneagles. He also had his wedding there in 2015.
