This historic estate in Southampton, New York, can add a jaw-dropping price cut to the record books.

The owners of "Normandy House," a stunning 8.3-acre estate on Lake Agawam that’s a few properties away from the Atlantic Ocean, have chopped $9 million off the asking price.

The home, named by a previous owner for its French-style architecture, is now selling for $56 million, according to listing records—though it’s still one of the most expensive homes for sale in the Hamptons.

A local lawyer built the main house in 1930, commissioning Polhemus & Coffin—a firm which constructed French-style and revival estates for the likes of the Guggenheims and heiress Lucy Wharton Drexel.

The charm of the 8,000-square-foot main house was not lost on Rob Kardashian, brother of Kim Kardashian, who pranked the media by saying on Instagram in September that he’d bought the Hamptons manor, on sale at the time for $65 million.

Brokerage Bespoke Real Estate later confirmed that no one, including Mr. Kardashian, had bought the home.

The real owner, listed in property records as Harkonnen LLC, purchased the estate in 2013 for $28 million, according to records on PropertyShark. Since then, the owners have hired designer and architect Tony Ingrao, master builder Ed Bulgin and landscape architect Edmund Hollander to carry out extensive renovations, according to the listing with Bespoke, which declined to comment on the price reduction.

The main house has water views with seven bedrooms and six-and-a-half bathrooms. The master suite has dual closets, a private balcony and a remodeled master bath with a glass-encased shower, soaking tub and dual vanities.

The property has a tennis court, swimming pool, 400 feet of lake frontage and a separate guest house with an office and two bedrooms. Other structures on the estate include a pool house and carriage house with a two-car garage and staff quarters.
