As art collectors descend on Switzerland for Art Basel next week, many will arrive by private jet.
Glamorous events like that and others, including the World Economic Forum in Davos, and the Monaco Yacht Show, are contributing to the creation of “private jet clusters” — or locations that see surges in private jet travel.
The Instagram-inundating edition of Art Basel in Miami Beach, which takes place in early December, is a testament to the city’s thriving art scene. And during the 2014 event, 191 private jets touched down in Miami, representing a 28% increase compared with the same period in 2012, according to the latest Knight Frank Wealth Report, which examined data from private aviation firm NetJets and aircraft tracker WINGX.

The short-lived migrations of ultra-high net-worth individuals to desirable destinations — for say, a posh event such as the Monaco Grand Prix — is helping to boost demand for second-home purchases in these areas, too, says Knight Frank.
With that in mind, here’s a look at homes for sale in and around the five locations that have seen the biggest increases in private jet travel.
