It’s time to upgrade your home’s most utilized water dispenser. Kitchen faucet technology has advanced to such a degree—both in terms of design and capabilities—that you’d be doing your home a disservice if you didn’t consider one of the devices below.

Sensate with Kohler Konnect

Long known for combining innovative tech with bold design, Kohler brings its trademark touch to the world of kitchen faucets with Sensate with Kohler Konnect. The sleek and serpentine Sensate is as smart as it is stylish, allowing users to operate it completely via voice control—and we mean completely. Owners will be able to tell the Sensate to turn on, turn off, dispense an exact amount of water, or to fill up a pot to a certain level. The Sensate also looks after itself, monitoring water usage, detecting leaks and notifying users of them via the Kohler Konnect app.

Pricing and availability for the Sensate with Kohler Konnect has not yet been announced but the faucet will come in three styles (Polished Chrome, Vibrant Stainless or Oil-Rubbed Bronze) when launched. Interested parties can sign up at Kohler.com to be notified ahead of launch.

Delta Touch2O

Turn your faucet on or off with a simple tap—from any part of your body to any part of the faucet. Delta’s Touch20 Technology faucets mitigate the spread of messes—and germs—by allowing users to easily clean their hands or various culinary accoutrement. Simply touch any part of a Delta Touch20 faucet and it will start spraying. A second touch turns it off. How delightfully simple. It doesn’t end there, however. Ahead of this year’s Consumer Electronics Show, Delta announced that it will be pairing Amazon’s A.I. assistant Alexa with future versions of the Touch20 faucets—an upgrade that will allow owners to additionally activate their faucets by voice and dictate quantity and temperature of the water dispense. Better still, Delta said that they will have a way for current Touch20 faucet owners to upgrade without purchasing a new unit.

Current Delta Touch20 faucets are available for $307 to $739, depending on model and additional features. Pricing and availability for Alexa-enabled Touch20 faucets have not yet been announced.

Moen MotionSense

If talking to your faucet seems like a bridge too far, there’s MotionSense Touchless Faucets from Moen. Minimalist and modern, these faucets come with sensors that activate or impede the water flow when they detect motion—whether it’s from the swipe of a hand or placement of an empty pitcher below. Motion-activation allows owners to keep their kitchens—and especially their stylish kitchen sink faucets—a bit cleaner by forgoing the need to grip handles with egg yolk-covered hands, for example.

Grohe Blue Chilled and Sparkling

Of course, kitchen faucets aren’t just for cleaning hands and dishes. They also provide much needed refreshment, and if your primary use for your kitchen faucet is for drinking water, then you’re not going to do better than the Grohe Blue Chilled & Sparkling. This faucet and filter system not only provides owners with fresh, clean water for consumption, it chills the beverage at a pleasant 42.8° fahrenheit (6° celsius) and offers a choice of three water types: still, semi-sparkling or fully carbonated. Yes, chilled seltzer water on demand without any additional countertop equipment. What a time to be alive.
