Old Hollywood glamour meets presidential prestige in this five-bedroom home in Los Angeles.

The 6,153-square-foot home in the Little Holmby neighborhood was listed for $7 million on Thursday. It had been home to president Ronald Reagan and his first wife, actress Jane Wyman, during their marriage.

And last year, it served as the home of Joan Crawford in "Feud," the FX television series about the rivalry between Joan Crawford (played by Jessica Lange) and Bette Davis (played by Susan Sarandon), according to listing broker Christophe Choo of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage.

Known as the Shuwarger house, the home also has architectural significance, Mr. Choo said. It was built in 1938 by Paul Williams, a Los Angeles-based architect known for designing homes for the Hollywood elite.

Wyman, who was married to Reagan from 1940 to 1949 and died in 2007, lived in the home until the early 1950s. And when it was time for her to move on, she already had a buyer lined up, Mr. Choo explained.

"The woman who bought it had always loved the home, and one day she knocked on the door and told Jane Wyman that if she was ever interested in selling it, she should call," he said.

Wyman did call, and the two women made a deal. That was 64 years ago. The buyer has since passed away, and her children are selling the home, Mr. Choo said. They were not immediately available for comment.

Now the Colonial Revival-style home is back on the market, and although it’s been updated, much of its original character remains, Mr. Choo said.

"It’s not the biggest mansion, but it’s one of the most beautiful," he said. The symmetrical facade has not changed, and the oval entranceway and staircase remain as grand as ever.

The home has "an amazing layout," Mr. Choo added. "Paul Williams was a genius with floor plans."

That includes a reception hall with a sunroom, high ceilings in the formal living room and a large family room with a bar. There’s a separate dining room, as well as a breakfast nook. Original moulding can be found throughout the home, Mr. Choo added.

The master suite takes up the southern side of the second floor, and there are three additional en-suite bedrooms.

Outside, there’s a dining pavilion with a fire pit, landscaped gardens and a pool. "It’s very old Hollywood," Mr. Choo said.

The home, which is co-listed by Joyce Essex, also of Coldwell Banker, is also in a "wonderful location," Mr. Choo pointed out, adding that Little Holmby has the best public school in L.A.
