A limited liability company managed by President Donald Trump’s sons, Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr., has just paid $18.5 million for a mansion in Palm Beach, Florida, opposite the Mar-a-Lago resort. The property was owned by their aunt, Maryanne Trump Barry, property records show.

A deed filed Thursday shows the LLC was the buyer of the eight-bedroom home. Eric Trump, 34, is listed as the president of the company and his brother Donald Trump Jr., 40, is the vice president, according to records.

"It is a great honor to have purchased one of the finest mansions in Palm Beach," said Eric Trump in a statement to Mansion Global.

"Mar-a-Lago is among the most iconic properties anywhere in the world and it is very special to be able to add this incredible beachfront estate to the property," he added.

Along with its close proximity to Mar-a-Lago—dubbed the "winter White House"–their new acquisition is directly opposite a mansion belonging to their father, property records show. A second home owned by Mr. Trump is close by too.

Built in 1956, the house hit the market in December for $22.9 million, and the price was raised to $23.9 million later the same month, listing records show.

The house has a formal living room, a sunroom, a library, an oceanfront balcony, a patio and a pool, according to the listing with Christian Angle of Christian Angle Real Estate. The brokerage did not immediately respond to request for comment.

Ms. Barry, 81, purchased the home—which comes with roughly 194 feet of ocean frontage—in 2004 for $11.5 million and owns it through a trust, records with PropertyShark show.

The house entered contract in March.

Ms. Barry is an attorney and inactive senior circuit judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, which has jurisdiction over Delaware, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. She took inactive senior status in February 2017. Ms. Barry could not be reached for comment.
