After the Giants loss to the Green Bay Packers Sunday, New York quarterback Eli Manning has the perfect place to do some soul searching—a beachside mansion he recently bought on Long Island.

The 36-year-old NFL star reportedly bought the three-story home in the celebrity-laden town of Quogue, in the Hamptons, where soap opera legend Susan Lucci recently sold a home.

Actor Michael J. Fox and "Mad Money" host Jim Cramer also own property in the Hamptons town, according to property records.

And while Mr. Manning may not be laughing today, he apparently has a sense of humor. The five-bedroom, four-bathroom beach house sold for $8.5 million under a limited liability company with the same name as the Manning family pooch, Chester—the shell company is called Mr. Chester LLC, according to property records.

The LLC bought the home from Arthur B. Calcagnini, a business executive and former director of U.S. Sugar Policy and the U.S. Department of Agriculture under President Richard Nixon, county property records show. The off-market deal closed in October.

The new digs span nearly 7,000 square feet of space and sit on a 1.2-acre plot.

Images of the home show a large pool and patio space at the back of the house. At the front, is a massive second-floor deck that leads via private walkway directly to the beach.

An agency representing Mr. Manning did not immediately return requests for comment.
