Location: Big Sky, Montana

Price: $7.5 million

This handsome stone and timber home sits just off a ski run and offers stunning views and exceptional access to the 5,800-acre Big Sky Resort, one of the largest ski resorts in North America.

"There is a ski trail literally right next to the property," said listing agent Ania Bulis.

"It has almost unbeatable ski-in, ski-out access."

The area gets about 400 inches of snow a year, she said.

This house is on Lone Mountain, at about 8,300 feet, and is part of the Moonlight Basin community.

"Architecturally, it’s really exceptionally beautiful," Ms. Bulis said. "And it’s incredibly well done on the interior—it’s timeless, with really beautiful timber work."

And the views are easy to come by. "The whole back of the house on all three floors is glass," she said.

The house is fully turnkey, too, with furnishings included.

Two massive stone fireplaces anchor the house and rise through all three floors.

"It has an incredible double-sided fireplace," with one side in the kitchen and the other facing out to the triple-height living and dining areas, Ms. Bulis said.

The two bedrooms on the third floor are done up as bunk rooms, she said, "and they sleep at least six each."

Moonlight Basin, which now has about 350 owners, "is an extraordinarily outdoorsy, recreation-based community," Ms. Bulis said. Along with the downhill skiing, there is snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, tubing, hockey and ice skating.

"It has one of the few natural lakes in the area," she said, and in summer there is a beach for swimming, along with boating docks, fly-fishing and trails for hiking and mountain biking. "And it still has a traditional 18-hole Jack Nicklaus golf course."

"It is an especially great destination for families," Ms. Bulis said.

Club membership is optional. Social membership is $4,500 a year and full members pay $9,500 annually, she said. There is an initial membership deposit of $18,000 for social members and $50,000 for full members.
