Listing of the Day
Location: Miami Beach, Florida
Price: $4.95 million
This fully remodeled and modernized Art Deco house is in a fairly quiet and private area of Miami Beach.
“They’ve taken an older house to the next level,” said listing agent Nelson Gonzalez.
“It’s in perfect condition, with a great layout—two bedrooms up, two bedrooms down,” he said. “It has a very large kitchen that opens to a family room.”
The gated house was built in 1934 and has been recently renovated, Mr. Gonzalez said. High hedges provide lots of privacy.
Architectural and design details include an original Art Deco staircase, Italian porcelain floors throughout and hurricane-impact doors and windows and Lutron lighting. The living room has cathedral beamed ceilings and a wood-burning fireplace.
The eat-in kitchen is equipped with an oversized cooking island, quartz countertops, a double oven by Miele, two Miele dishwashers, and a Sub-Zero refrigerator and freezer.
The master suite features a large terrace, walk-in closet, and a deluxe bathroom with double sinks, a double rain-head shower and a tub.
There is also a formal dining, home theater, and a sitting area with an entertainment bar overlooking the backyard.
“Because it’s a double lot, it has space in the back,” Mr. Gonzalez said. “There is a lawn, which you don’t really get with a lot of these houses.”
A guesthouse has a flexible layout, Mr. Gonzalez said. “They currently have it set up as a guest bedroom and a playroom.”
The main house has five bedrooms, four full bathrooms and one half-bath. A fully detached guesthouse has two bedrooms and one full bathroom. Together, the houses have 5,799 square feet of interior space. They sit on a lushly manicured double lot that measures 17,100 square feet.
Amenities include a pool with an electric cover, a children’s playground, covered summer kitchen with an ice-maker and gas barbecue, hurricane-impact doors and windows, indoor/outdoor security cameras, a full-house generator and water purifier, a Savant music system and landscape lighting.
“North Bay Road is a very nice high-end neighborhood,” Mr. Gonzalez said. “It’s close to South Beach, close to Bal Harbour—it’s sort of in the middle of both.”
“It’s not a heavily trafficked road, other than the people who live there,” he said.
The La Gorce Country Club, which has an 18-hole golf course as well as tennis and swimming, is within walking distance.
