Five Most Expensive Property Sales:
Musician Phil Collins bought a mansion in Miami Beach for $33 million that once belonged to pop star Jennifer Lopez. The Mediterranean-style estate features roughly 200 feet of waterfront on Biscayne Bay. [WSJ] After 140 days on the market, the Manhattan penthouse that once belonged to the late comedian Joan Rivers may have found a buyer. Rivers lived in her Upper East Side home, which was listed for $28 million, for 25 years, Curbed reported. [Curbed] Fashion designer Calvin Klein snagged a Hollywood Hills estate for $25 million. Located in the “Bird Streets” neighborhood, the five-bedroom home features glass walls that open to a lawn and a swimming pool with views of downtown. [WSJ] After dropping the price twice, actors Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick finally sold their Manhattan townhouse for about $18.3 million. The couple paid nearly $19 million for the 6,800-square-foot home in 2011, which they renovated and put back on the market a year later. [Curbed] Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas sold their Italian Revival-style mansion in Los Angeles for nearly $16 million. Supermodel Elle Macpherson and her billionaire husband Jeffrey Soffer listed their Aspen mansion for $35 million. The seven-bedroom estate has an indoor pool, a gym and two elevators. [New York Post] Actor Johnny Depp put his estate in the South of France on the market for $26 million. The property is a former village that includes a main house with a “Pirates of the Caribbean”-themed wine cave. [WSJ] Media mogul Tyler Perry listed his Atlanta estate for $25 million. Located on 17 acres along the Chattahoochee River, the property includes a French Provincial-style mansion with an underground ballroom, a screening room and a swimming pool with a swim-up bar. [Curbed] A French Country-style estate belonging to former NBA star Allan Houston is on the market for $19.9 million. Located in New York’s Westchester County, the 19,300-square-foot home features an indoor basketball court and a trophy room. [WSJ] Actor and director Jonathan Frakes, of “Star Trek: The Next Generation” fame, put his Los Angeles estate on the market for about $12.5 million. Located in the Beverly Hills Post Office neighborhood, the 10,000-square-foot home includes seven bedrooms and 10 baths. [WSJ]
