Aldo Bensadoun is the newest member of the Surf Club in southern Florida.

Through Junior’s Cliff LP, the founder of the ALDO Group recently paid $10.25 million for a condominium at the Four Seasons Private Residences at The Surf Club in Surfside, Florida, according to public records. The purchase was made in September, but the documents were made available on Tuesday.

The shoe tycoon, whose worth is currently estimated at $1.01 billion, according to Forbes, bought a unit in the south tower of the new condo, which was designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Richard Meier. Representatives for Mr. Bensadoun did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

The sale was made in an off-market deal. Representatives from the Surf Club sales team did not immediately return requests for comment

Mr. Meier designed the new 77-room Four Seasons Hotel and two 12-story residential towers, according to the Four Seasons’ website. The new buildings are on the site of the historic Surf Club, where the original Mediterranean revival building by Russell Pancoast still stands.

The club opened in 1930, the brainchild of Harvey Firestone, the founder of the Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. Designed as a private spot for luminaires to lounge in the sun, guests over the years included Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Elizabeth Taylor and Winston Churchill, according to its website.

There are 150 residences, which range from 1,800 to 7,800 square feet and priced from $3.7 million to $31 million. Although the details of Mr. Bensadoun’s new pad aren’t clear, the condos boast up to 20-foot ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows that frame views of the Atlantic Ocean, Biscayne Bay and Indian Creek, the website said.

Residents have access to all the amenities at the hotel, which includes the fitness center and spa, gardens, four swimming pools and two restaurants, plus a private club.

The purchase was first reported by The Real Deal.
