"The People vs. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story," starring John Travolta, Sarah Paulson and Cuba Gooding Jr., cleaned up at Sunday’s Emmys, winning five awards. Now one of the stars is hoping to make millions of dollars after the success of the show ... but it might not be who you think.
The historic Warner estate, the home that was used as O.J. Simpson’s house on the show, has been put on the market for $39.99 million. The 13,000-square-foot private Tudor mansion in Beverly Hills was built back in 1923 for Harry Warner, the original head and founder of Warner Bros. Studios.
"The house had never been used for filming, but the producers approached me and had to convince me," said owner Daphna Ziman, who is looking to downsize as her children are all grown up, and it’s just her in the seven-bedroom, seven-bathroom home.

Mr. Gooding Jr., who played Mr. Simpson on the show, is not the only celebrity to have walked through the doors of the house, which is close to the Beverly Hills Hotel and Sunset Boulevard. Marilyn Monroe resided in the guest house while Mr. Warner lived in the main residence, according to co-listing agents Joyce Rey and Jade Mills, both with Coldwell Banker Previews International.
Ms. Ziman, who bought the house in 1996 and had it restored, is also a major political supporter and has hosted many high profile events at the estate, with guests ranging from Hollywood celebrities to key political figures.
John Kerry’s presidential campaign was launched at the house, while a barbecue was held for Bill and Hillary Clinton before the former left office. As a result, many have called it the "White House of the West," according to Ms. Ziman.

Spaces to entertain include a sitting room with chandeliers from the 1920s, a den, library, a game room, a large entertainment lounge area with a custom, handmade wood indoor/outdoor bar and a screening room, which features silk velvet curtains from the Charlie Chaplin Theater.
The 1.25-acre estate also boasts a European Garden, a rock-lagoon-like pool and spa, waterfalls, tennis court and a bridge that crosses over a koi pond.
