Location: Farley Green, U.K.

Price: £2.3 million (US$3.03 million)

A contemporary country house nestled in the English countryside is on the market in Farley Green. The 10-year-old house has old-fashioned charm (beyond its years) and is up to date with modern conveniences. Its previous owners were a hedge fund manager and an interior designer.

"The very striking thing is when you approach the front door, you’re met with an oak-framed glass atrium entrance. The atrium is three stories high, so you’re certainly met with a sense of light and space and volume," said listing agent David Williams.

The kitchen has a contemporary design courtesy of Pedini, with a Miele steamer oven, combination microwave oven, convection oven and warming drawer and a Gaggenau range and griddle hob. The Elica Star Range Hood resembles a chandelier.

The master suite looks out over the property’s gardens—which were designed by Chelsea Flower Show designers—via shuttered French doors that open to a juliet balcony.

"It’s great fun, and a really beautifully done house," Mr. Williams said, adding that "the house is decorated with muted colors throughout and hand-printed wallpaper."

Stats

The house has six bedrooms, five full bathrooms and one half bathroom spread out across four floors and 5,768 square feet (including a 460 square foot garage). The property is on 1.4 acres.

Amenities

The lower ground floor features a cinema room with a 7.1 professional surround-sound system, Lutron lighting and a 2.5-meter 3D projector screen. This floor also has a gym with rubberized flooring and mirrored walls, a walk-in wine refrigerator with room for 250 bottles, a secondary kitchen with Smeg appliances and a shower room with an infrared sauna. In-ceiling speakers that are linked to Sonos are found in the ground floor rooms, cinema room and gym.

"It’s full of tech, gadgets and gizmos," Mr. Williams said.
