“True Blood” and “Big Little Lies” star Alexander Skarsgård has just spent $2.3 million on a loft-like, full-floor apartment in Manhattan’s East Village.
City records show Mr. Skarsgård paid a little above the $2 million asking price for the one-bedroom co-op on East 10th Street—arguably one of the prettiest streets in the neighborhood.
His new apartment is inside a 26.5-foot-wide pre-war townhouse and has wood-beamed ceilings, a wood-burning fireplace, an oversized skylight, exposed brick and casement windows, according to the listing. Original wide plank floors line the floor and the kitchen and bathroom have had modern upgrades. There is also the opportunity to build a private roof deck.
Late last year, the Swedish actor, 41, had been seen touring other apartments in the neighborhood, including a duplex penthouse above a historic synagogue, according to the New York Post.
The house—within the landmarked St. Mark’s Historic district—has a celebrity pedigree.
Actress Parker Posey lived in Mr. Skarsgård’s new apartment until 2008, records show, and actress Chloë Sevigny lived on the building’s ground floor until 2013, records show.
