It’s hard to believe that this calm, garden-filled oasis with two Thai-style contemporary villas is just 25 minutes from the bustling heart of downtown Bangkok.

The unusual property was inspired by the Amanpuri Resort in Phuket and landscaped by renowned architect Bill Bensley.

Local and foreign buyers alike are likely to be interested in this house "as it is very spacious and private," said Anchalee Kasemsukthawat, director of Residential, Prime Sales for Knight Frank Thailand. "It is suitable for a big family, as there are multiple villas in the compound with facilities including a clubhouse, swimming pool and playground."

Added together, the villas have seven bedrooms and five bathrooms. Sliding glass doors and large windows connect the open-plan living areas with the lush tropical gardens and terraces.

The elevated main villa has a pair of luxurious bedroom wings with private bathrooms and dressing rooms and a large open living room with a bar, sunken dining area, entertainment room and kitchen.

The five-bedroom family villa has a fully outfitted and modern western-style kitchen, along with open living and dining areas.

A graceful Thai Sala, a pavilion used as a meeting place, sits in the center of the property, between the two villas. "Most are open on all four sides," Ms. Kasemsukthawat said.

Separate from the residential area, there is also a 1,200-square-meter commercial building available.

The Stats

The main villa covers 575 square meters (6,189 square feet), with two bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The family villa is 380 square meters (4,090 square feet), with five bedrooms and three full baths. The total land area is 6,400 square meters (69,000 square feet).

Design Pedigree

Harvard-educated and Bangkok-based architect and landscape designer Bill Bensley is known as the king of exotic resorts. His projects include the Anantara Resort & Spa Koh Samui in Thailand; the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai in Hawaii; the Four Seasons Tented Camp in Chiang Rai, Thailand; and InterContinental Danang in Vietnam. He has been named as one of the world’s top 100 designers by both Architectural Digest and Time Magazine.

Amenities

The 24-by-7-meter swimming pool and the rock-granite barbecue terrace are surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens with mature coconut trees, ponds and brass sculptures, said Ms. Kasemsukthawat. "The clubhouse is still an empty space, but is planned to be turned into a fitness center."

Neighborhood Notes

"This property is located adjacent to central Bangkok," said Ms. Kasemsukthawat. "It is in a residential area surrounded with shopping malls and community malls with very easy access to town."
