Location: Grand Blanc, Michigan

Price: $2.975 million

Though it looks as if it was pulled straight from the pages of "The Great Gatsby,"  this Gilded Age-inspired home with all the grandeur of an early 20th century estate was actually built in 1971. Known as the Auker Mansion, the home is situated on roughly 50 rolling acres of green pastures in the farming community of Grand Blanc. It’s located five minutes from downtown Grand Blanc and 45 minutes from Detroit.

"It’s ‘Great Gatsby’ meets medieval castle-era style," says listing agent Alexander Chapman of Signature Sotheby’s International Realty. The drama begins upon entry. "Twenty-foot steel security gates open to the endless paver driveway leading to the house," he says. And if that’s not a welcome, "to your left, you’re greeted by donkeys and other wildlife."
