In the true heart of Cape Cod, a brand new property—completed only two months ago—offers a truly unspoiled piece of the Massachusetts coastline a stone’s throw from the famed Kennedy Compound. Proving that the quintessential beach home feel can be achieved without sacrificing size or design quality, the sprawling, waterfront home manages to convey coziness despite spanning 7,000 square feet.

"Some large houses are overwhelming, but though it’s spectacular it’s not so spectacular, so large and immense that it’s overwhelming. There’s a warmth to it and it’s inviting," said listing broker Jonathan Matel of William Raveis. "A lot of times with a waterfront house, it’s awful to show it on a rainy day, because people tend to look inward toward the house and they don’t appreciate the beautiful view, but in this house there’s so much to see inwards."

That’s not to suggest that the outdoor space isn’t a major asset. The 400-foot private beach is a focal point of the home, highlighted by windows that capture the southern- facing views. If you ever feel compelled to venture out, Craigville Beach, one of the Cape’s most famous, is a short walk away.

The Stats:

The 7,000-square-foot home has five bedrooms, seven baths and four half baths. The property is spread over three acres with 400 feet of waterfront. Mr. Matel said that it can be purchased furnished, for the right price.

Amenities:

Within the four-car garage is a car wash, while indoor features include a dog grooming room and a library.

Design Pedigree:

"The ceilings, they’re indescribable. There’s so much detail to them," Mr. Matel said. "Every room is different [but] there’s a common theme with the woodwork."

Architect Doreve Nicholaeff used richly colored woods throughout the house to help the rooms flow together. Finding the perfect blond shade of sycamore proved difficult and eventually a tree sourced all the way in Germany was brought in. "Sycamore’s generally really busy and has a lot of grains and it would have been overwhelming," Mr. Matel said. "This one, it’s a really subtle grain and it’s just a beautiful, very expensive wood," he says.

Celebrity Cachet:

The area is inextricably associated with the Kennedy family. Down the road in Hyannis Port is the historic Kennedy Compound, purchased by Joseph P. Kennedy in the 1920s. President John F. Kennedy based his 1960 campaign out of the home and later designated it as his presidential retreat. Caroline Kennedy’s 1986 wedding took place in the nearby Our Lady of Victory Church and Jackie was a favorite customer at legendary ice cream shop Four Seas in neighboring Centerville.
