A 90-year-old gated estate in Ross, California, is back on the market for $8.85 million, a year after it was last sold for $8 million and five years after it was listed for $16.8 million.

Built in 1926, the two-acre, six-bedroom, seven-and-a-half-bath estate features large, level lawns, gardens, terraces, a patio with pool and spa, and ultimate privacy, according to the listing.

The main residence has a modern kitchen, a dining room with adjacent terrace, and a spiral staircase to the private study with full bath. The listing shows the property also includes a gym and sports court, a theater, a cabana, five enclosed garages and two separate outdoor kitchens and barbecue areas.

According to the property records, the estate—which went back on the market Tuesday—is owned by Bescherelle Trust and Bruce Stuart Trust, which purchased it from the previous sellers in March 2016.

John Caruso, of Sotheby’s International Realty, who is the listing agent, did not provide further details on the identity of the current owner.

Mr. Caruso was also the broker when the current owner purchased the property in 2016. According to Mr. Caruso, the current owner intended to relocate his family to North California when he bought this home but later found Silicon Valley a better fit for his office. He never moved into the estate but spent the past year remolding it to a more contemporary and fresh-feeling residence.

The estate was listed in 2012 for $16.8 million. According to the property records, the previous seller was Shore Martin L. Trust. Mr. Caruso told Mansion Global that the previous seller really wanted to sell the property, which allowed him to bargain for the home and resulted in the sale price of just over $8 million.
