One of Boston’s newest luxury penthouses will rise 57 stories above the city, offering unobstructed views in every direction.

The Prudential Building, the Charles River and beyond will be visible from the Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences One Dalton Street tower, located in the city’s exclusive Back Bay neighborhood. Scheduled to open in late 2018, it will be the tallest residential building in New England, according to its website.

On Monday, Mansion Global got a first look at one of three penthouses on the 57th floor of the 61-story building. The three-bedroom, three-and-a-half bathroom penthouse is listed at $17 million. It has 4,151 square feet of living space, plus a balcony overlooking the city. And the floor-to-ceiling windows will put the city on constant display.

Sales for "friends and family" began last year in the building, and representatives are now taking private appointments.

A direct elevator whisks residents and their guests to  the apartment, which they can enter via a private foyer. The entry is also a gallery, with plenty of room for hanging art, and it leads to a custom-designed rotunda, according to the listing.

The corner living room offers ample space for entertaining, as well as access to the balcony and a natural gas fireplace with an Absolute Black granite hearth, the listing said. There’s a formal dining room adjacent to the living area, plus a custom kitchen designed by SieMatic, a luxury kitchen company in Germany. The room also has a breakfast nook and appliances are by Miele, Wolf and Sub-Zero.

There are three en-suite bedrooms. The master bedroom has a walk-in closet and bathroom with a soaking tub, Greecian marble floors and radiant heating. It also has floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing for a bath with a city view. A second bedroom is next to the master, and the third is on the other side of the apartment.

The residences were designed by Harry N. Cobb of Pei Cobb Freed & Partners, along with Cambridge Seven Associates. Mr. Cobb is a Boston native, and the former chairman of Harvard’s Department of Architecture. He also designed 200 Clarendon Street, formerly known as the Hancock Tower.

Starting on the 26th floor, the apartments will be above the Four Seasons Hotel, and residents will have access to hotel amenities like the pool, spa and fitness center, 24-hour staff and priority seating at the hotel restaurant. There’s also a 5,000-square-foot park designed by award-winning landscape architect Michael Van Valkenburgh.

The residences have a private lobby and a residents’ club on the 50th floor, both created by architect Thierry Despont. The club includes a private dining room, media room, outdoor space and a bar and catering kitchen. The building also offers in-house pet grooming, a golf-simulator room with a wet bar and private theater space.
