An oceanfront South Florida home is going on the market for $20 million.
The house is in the town of Golden Beach, about 20 miles north of Miami. According to listing agent Janet Ben Zvi of Douglas Elliman Real Estate, the four-bedroom home measures about 5,000 square feet. The nearly 1-acre lot on Ocean Boulevard also includes a separate garage, a cabana with two bathrooms, a grassy lawn and a swimming pool overlooking the ocean.
Built in 1941, the brick house was purchased by cardiovascular surgeon Malcolm Dorman in 1985 for $700,000, according to public records. Dr. Dorman remodeled the house about five years ago, but a new owner could demolish the property and rebuild, Ms. Ben Zvi said. Now largely retired, Dr. Dorman now lives in the Palm Beach area, she added. Dr. Dorman couldn’t be reached for comment.
Golden Beach is one of the few locations in the area with single-family homes directly on the Atlantic. In 2014 a roughly 11,000-square-foot home down the street sold for $22.5 million, setting a record for the town.
