For decades, California fashion designer Charles Park has explored the elements of great fashion to create acclaimed labels including Pure Sugar and Sugarlips. Now his first custom home, which he designed with his expertise in color, texture, lines, light and material, is on the market for $43.9 million.
Working together with Los Angeles architects Samuel and Paul Oh, Mr. Park created a seven-bedroom, 11-bathroom residence that reflects his design caliber and style. The spec home sits on almost an acre at 1231 Lago Vista Drive in Beverly Hills.
At the entrance, there is a stunning six-foot Mooi chandelier, two sets of floating staircases, and an original Andy Warhol painting. The newly completed home has over $6 million worth of art, but art aficionados shouldn’t get too excited — none of the pieces are included in the sale price, according to listing agent Aaron Kirman, president of Aaroe Estates, the luxury property division of John Aaroe Group.
However, all the furniture and furnishings do come with the sale. The home features furnishings by B&B Italia, Minotti and Gandia Blasco, with an estimated cost of $1 million, said Mr. Kirman. There are 33 floor-to-ceiling Rimadesio Italian glass magnetic doors and 400 lights imported from Belgium’s Delta Lighting, each worth $1,000.
“This home is finest in architectural design and execution,” Mr. Kirman said. “It is like living in a five-star resort in the heart of Beverly Hills.”
There’s a fitness center adjoining the master bedroom, and outdoors there is a 50-foot zero-edge volleyball pool and a barbecue patio.
